Personal Reminder

The Alantic - 15 Ways to Fix the World

“Make no little plans,” said President Barack Obama last spring as he rolled out a pitch for a high-speed rail network—yet another presidential initiative to lift America out of recession and chart a new national course. In that spirit, The Atlantic offers a few modest proposals for making the world a better place.

The above quote is an insert for a set of articles that The Atlantic Magazine has compiled. The articles are a set of ideas that they feel would help “fix the world”. It’s a good set of articles. Not only did it coincide with some of my own personal thoughts but also opened my eyes to some new solutions and ideas.

Ross Racine

The width on my site doesn’t give Ross Racine’s images justice. His work reminds me of a mix of organic chemistry , John Conway’s Game of Life and 8-bit SimCity. I love it. I found this via FFFFound (a great site for finding something beautiful or inspiring).

Kyohei Sakaguchi’s 4D Garden

“There is little place for a garden in Tokyo. But many people have a garden. How? By using their fantastic idea. Japanese people have the technology of minimum. They have huge space in their mind with their brain. I called it “4D Garden”. This garden is minimum small, mobile, imitation, not nature…e.t.c. We can think again what is a garden, nature. And we can find the relationship between public and private, between nature and artificial. The garden has many thinking for us. It looks like Marcel Duchamp’s idea. This is a conceptual garden. We can find the 4D garden only by using our brain. Welcome to 4D GARDEN!”

Kyohei Sakaguchi

I’d recommend exploring Kyohei Sakaguchi’s site. From his “The Way of Zero Yen Life” set (that documents the homeless makeshift shelters in Japan) to his “Dig-ital” drawings; there’s a lot of great content.

You and Your Research

“You and Your Research” was a lecture given by Richard Hamming. This is a good paper that can be applied to any art/science/passion/business.
